I want a grown-up fancy sofa. I want a tufted sofa with nice legs. What kind of sofa do I have now? A tufted sofa with nice legs, of course (you can see it here). I need a new sofa as much as I need to buy another chair that can’t be sat in because it needs new cushions or needs to be totally re-glued. I want. I don’t need.
But I can look, right?
1) CB2‘s Avec Tweed Sofa caught my eye in the most recent catalog. I love the tweedy grey upholstery but the more I look at this sofa, it feels unbalanced and top heavy. It looks like it’s going to wake up and talk to me like Pee-Wee’s talking chair.
2) I’ve been a fan of the Reese Sofa from Room & Board for awhile. The Tatum fabric is my favorite, a wonderful red/pink micro-boucle that doesn’t come across as too feminine.
3) West Elm‘s take on the classic Chesterfield, the Chester, looks completely amazing in deep turquoise Lagoon. It’s my favorite and it’s totally gorgeous. But would it be comfortable? I need to meet this sofa in person. Dear West Elm, please come to Pittsburgh. Pottery Barn is already here. And tell Crate and Barrel to invite CB2.
4) And then there’s the Atwood Sofa from Gus Modern. So dreamy, so handsome. Look. At. That. Base. Walnut perfection. This is my second favorite, all dressed up in Urban Tweed with all those stately tufts. I wanna be friends with it.
What’s your dream sofa?

#2 is the best from this bunch IMO, but girl you know that grey (is it grey?) is calling to me….
I like #2 but I wonder if it would be weird to sit on the tufted bits. And agreed, that grey calls to me too. Maybe I’ll find a good grey tweed like that for the cushions on either of the chairs I’ll never make new cushions for.
The second one is very Lucy and I would love to have it in my imaginary living room.
The pineapple couch we used to have in our living room had tufted bits and it didn’t bother my bottom at all. It was well worn. I would still want to sit on a couch before I spent money on it though.
Your imaginary living room is so cute. Your whole imaginary home is cute. I can picture it!
I had forgotten all about the pineapple couch. I’ll definitely sit on a new sofa before I buy one – and I really shouldn’t be buying one. And I’m not gonna! Maybe when we buy a house…
That blue sofa is stunning! I love this style, they look very classy, like you’d see in a Parisienne Salon or something :)
