Oh, hello! Happy Friday to you. Earlier this month I posted my very first reader survey and I was so delightfully overwhelmed by the quantity and kindness of the responses. I learned a lot more about all of you and wanted and am truly so grateful. Are you, like me, curious to a fault and really wanna see some of those results? Of course! Here’s what the survey respondents say they wanna see more of from us here at The Sweet Beast.
What would you like to see me do more of in 2021?
The top five most-voted for topics, in order:
- Larger DIY home projects (things that involve power tools)!
- Interior Design Planning (like mood boards and SketchUp models)
- Decorating DIY skills (like how to hang wallpaper or sew curtains)
- One Room Challenge
- Small craft DIYs (like DIY art or decor accessories)
I am so excited about this top 5! Your number 1 pick is a personal goal of mine for the year – I want to become more power-tool-savvy and I’m so glad to see you’re ready to watch that happen. And I’ve got ideas rolling around in my head for the rest, too… though TBD on that One Room Challenge, my friends.
Outside of home decor, design, and DIYs, are you interested in hearing from us on any of these other topics?
- Styling
- Project Management
Styling was the big winner here, then project management and everything else trailing way behind. This is good news because it sounds like for the most part, I need to just keep doing more of what I’m already doing – plus I can add a bit more styling content into the mix.
If you are shopping for or recently purchased a sofa/couch/sectional, what is/was your budget?
I was so curious about this one! Here’s the breakdown:
- 72.9% said $1000-3000
- 17.5% said $500-1000
- 6.8% said $3000-$8000
- 2.8% said less than $500
I really loved hearing from you and hope to repeat this survey every year to make sure I’m staying on track. Thank you!
And now for some lamps…
I look forward to January not only because it’s my birthday month but because brands like CB2, Crate and Barrel, and West Elm roll out shiny new collections. I typically count on CB2 for having the best lighting but Crate and Barrel knocked me over with a few of their new lamps.

I have been very patiently waiting for the universe to send me really good floor lamps and wow, here they are. The natural materials and textures on each of these are so special and I hope there’s much more where these came from. {I do hope C&B does something about the silver screws on that terracotta flushmount, though.)
Have a great weekend and be ready next week for more of our cabin bedroom plans!

I’m about to order that first lamp for a little living room refresh – it’s so good!
